Bharat Bandh announced by Farmers on December 8th

More than thousands of farmers who are still on protest at various border points of Delhi have today announced to observe Bharat Bandh on December 8 in protest against the three new farm laws passed by the Central government. The Congress,Shiv Sena,Telangana Rashtra Samithi,DMK,Nationalist Congress Party,AAP,Rashtriya Janata Dal, Bahujan Samaj party,The Left parties and many other political parties have supported the all-India strike call by the farmers.

 

The unsettled farmers have threatened to block all entry and exit points of Delhi. The opposition parties have expressed unanimity with the disturbed farmers and asked the government to withdraw The Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce Bill,2020, The Farmer Agreement of Price Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill,2020 and The Essential Commodities  Bill,2020.

 

These laws threaten  India’s food security, destroy Indian agriculture and our farmers, lay the basis for the revoking of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and mortgage Indian agriculture and our markets to the caprices of multinational agri-bsuiness corporates and domestic corporates said the Opposition parties.

 

Delhi Taxi Tourist Transporters Association ,Delhi State Taxi Cooperative Society,Kaumi Ekta Welfare Association, app-based cabs and several other unions will join the nationwide strike on December 8. The Banking operations are expected to get hit as well as several bank unions have expressed their unanimity with the farmers.the Bar Council of India however clarified that it has not decided to support the Bharat Bandh.
