Diego Maradona, the “God of Football” as the world knows dies after a heart attack at 60 on Wednesday. The Argentenian football legend died at home just three weeks after having surgery on a blood clot in his brain. The doctor had confirmed release from the hospital and he was advised to continue recovery from home. He was already suffering from depression, heart related problems and a lot of alcohol and drug abuse.
The greatest goals of Diego of all the time was the”Hand Of God” goal where he had knocked England out of the tournament in a match and won the World Cup for Argentina in 1986. While being regarded as one of the greatest players of all time on the pitch, his life off the pitch was way too notorious – with regards to the battles he had with drug and alcohol addiction. He has had many surgeries and health issues and even spent years of rehabilitation to come off the alcohol abuse.
Just three weeks before he had a brain surgery with regards to the clot in his brain though he was first admitted to the hospital with signs of depression, dehydration and many other health issues . The blood
Clot in brain was found later and as a result he was moved to his personal doctor who performed the surgery successfully and had confirmed the release as well advicing him recovery at home.
About 9 ambulances were sent to his residence on Wednesday where he was continuing home recovery, which is in San Andres north of Buenos Aires.Local reports told that one fo the nurses caring for him had raised the alarm after finding he had sugfered a suspected heart attack. The Paramedics who rushed to his house unfortunately could not do anything to save him.

The family is yet to make any formal comment. Argentina’s former manager Cesar Luis Menotti said, ‘I’m devastated. I can’t believe it. I’m absolutely gutted. There’s no more I can say at this moment.’I thought at first the news of his death was fake news but obviously it’s what happened. It’s terrible and a tragic surprise because measures had been taken to make sure he was being looked after.’
There is no suggestion there is anything suspicious about Maradona’s death, however, the state prosecutors are on their way to the house where the soccer legend died as part of a routine investigation. The whole world are pouring out their condolence messages and Naples is mourning in the streets. Football world is in shock, many cant accept that Diego is ‘no more’.
