Ernakulam: A three-year-old boy has been confirmed with coronavirus. The boy arrived from Italy with his father and mother. After being scrutinized at the airport, he was shifted to Ernakulam Medical College. Subsequently, the virus was confirmed. The district medical officer has informed that the child’s condition is satisfactory. The father and mother are under observation in the Isolation Ward.

As Italy is on the Corona watch list, passengers arriving from these countries have been inspecting in the airport with a universal screening system since March 3. When the child was diagnosed with fever, he was rushed to the isolation ward of the Ernakulam Medical College in a special ambulance.

With this, the number of confirmed cases in the state has increased to six. They arrived home from Italy on March seventh. The people on the plane will also observe. The child and their parents arrived on flight number EK 503 from Dubai to Kochi on March 7th. The medical team in Ernakulam district is in a hurry to take the list of passengers aboard the plane and hand it over to their respective districts. The CCTV footage of the airport will be checked, including the staff who were on duty when they arrived.

As more people being diagnosed with the disease, caution is there everywhere. Airports have been observing with extreme caution. Health Department officials are reiterating that a cautious approach is needed instead of fear.

There are 12 persons who are there at the Isolation ward at Ernakulam Medical College in connection with COVID-19.

Control activities are progressing under the leadership of the district administration. The district collector asked to follow the instructions of the health department.
