Sampigehalli Police today busted a fake job racket by arresting five people. This gang had set up an office in Bengaluru Shivajinagar area and one on rent at Manyata Tech Park to trap job seekers. The accused are Sai Kalyan Ram (33) of Vijayawada,Vishwanath(28) of Chittoor ,Gantala Dileep Kumar(22) and Pattishiva (26) from Vijaya Bank Layout ,Bengaluru.
According to the police, the gang had cheated at least 500 people who in majority are engineering graduates by collecting money ranging from Rs.30,000 to 1.6 lakhs depending on the nature of the job they sought. It was also found that the gang had opened a consultancy,”HR India Service” and targeted job seekers who uploaded their CVs’ on other job sites.
A police officer earlier confirmed the gang had opened an office in Manyata Tech Park by the name CLOVERTY GROUP and issued appointment orders in the name of that office. The police said “The gang members would call the aspirants and promise them a job. Then they would ask those people to visit their office and take money from them.”
The incident came to light on November 2 , when the gang took 50 applicants to their employer’s false office in Manyata Tech Park. Arjun a complainant told the news that he had uploaded his CV on a job site and he received a call from HR India SErvices so called “representative” who offered him a job at the Cloverty Group and took Rs.70,000 from him. He said the company even arranged for a 15 day online training and offered an annual salary of Rs.4.2 lakhs and told him to work from home initially and after December he can work from their office at Manyata Tech Park.
Police had got more people on the list who had paid huge amounts to this gang anticipating jobs as promised. The police said “The group conducted job interviews for many job aspirants at teh tech park and issued fake offer letters even. The 50 candidates whom they took to their office at Manyata Tech Park on November 2 suspected something awry after they noticed the very small office space. Some of them approached Sampigehalli Police and filed a cheating case against the group.” Police then tracked them down and members of the group soon got arrested after thorough investigations.
