Modi government gains pride, Make in India: History in Defense for the first time India is on the list of arms exporting countries

New Delhi: Make in India project, a proud to Modi government. For the first time in history, India is on the list of arms exporting countries. India’s position is 23rd in the list. According to the Stoke International Peace Research Institute, India is the second-largest importer of arms. However, imports of arms have fallen by 32 percent since 2015. The Make in India project is regarded as a huge success.

Over the past five years, US imports of arms have fallen dramatically. 56% of India’s imported weapons are from Russia. 14 percent are from Israel and 12 percent are from France. The United States was the second-largest arms supplier to India during the UPA regime. But during the Modi government, it was 51 percent less.

India accounts for only 0.2 percent of the global arms market. But this beginning is a huge victory for India. The decline in imports by 32 percent has helped India to be among the world’s largest exporter. Myanmar is the largest buyer of arms from India. 46 percent. 25% of arms exports to Sri Lanka and 14% to Mauritius. India is targeting US $ 5 billion arms exports in the next five years.

At the same time, 73 percent of Pakistan’s weapons are from China.
